Redefining outdoors

I definitely believe that one reason people in USA take more time to get to know each other, is because they have so many ways of evaluating each other. That is also another reason, people in USA have many more things to occupy their time, hence having different buddies: walking buddy, yoga buddy, Pilates buddy, hiking buddy, gym buddy…and I have only just about started with the health related friendships. Deepak and I never evaluated each other on these gazillion parameters simply because in Bombay there are only two things you can do: shop, eat and watch a movie. We often thought that to be compatible in Bombay, both of us need to have the same taste in food and movies. Going to malls pretty much summed up our outdoor activities. Yes, there are sports, but made inaccessible to the lazy bum. But here, everything is made easier for the lazy ones. Here, we realized that both of us are outdoor freaks. Things that we will miss when we get back.

So we went to the batting cages where Deepak played baseball in which he didn’t have to run to earn points…

We played miniature Golf in which the size of the green is two clubs laid side by side and …

… I played the arcade games and won tons of coupons. Yup, we are sooooo outdoorsy. So when we saw how tired the walking around the greens, shopping for key chains with the coupons and putting coins in a slot were, we felt that we should have all that outdoor activity without the outdoor part; you know what I mean?

Ahem…There are three types of people in this world: those who can count and those who cannot.
